Does mass matter concerning energy to melt ice?

Most of the ice mass on Greenland has a temperature of -20 to -30 Celsius. By 150 meters the ice becomes compressed along with the absorption of surface melt, the density reaches near maximum density of 916 kg/m3. This greater density means greater mass requiring twice the energy (calories) to cause melting beyond 20 meters and 3 times the energy at 100 meters.
