Tao Te Ching: A document written 2500 years ago accredited to Lao Tzu

Tao - The Way: Tao referred to as “The Way”.  Tao is the mystery of all that is the great balance within life and the universe. Tao is the philosophy of all, not a religion. When the word Tao is used, replace the word Tao with one’s understanding of life, whether god or science or unknown.

Te - Virtues: Te is the nature of the spirit that is from Tao. Te defines the being to nature and its means of survival. Through Te, Tao maintains the perfection of life.

Pinnacle of Perfection: Only Tao is true perfection. To flow with “The Way” is to remain in perfection. Perfection is not overexerting or lazy. Perfection exists and enjoys its existence. As “The Way” flows to seek perfection and balance, the pinnacle of perfection remains changing so that “The Way” remains unchanged and perfect. The default of Tao is not through perfection but Tao’s maintenance of balance is perfect. When one creates what they called good, one must also wisely evaluate the bad that will result. For what humanity calls good is for selfishness or selflessness is not truly aligned with the balance and perfection of Tao. There is no perfection in humanity or anything other than Tao, for what would one eat or breathe? Tao is not good or bad, ugly or beautiful as for humanity fails to see the beauty in the ugly or good in the bad.

No one can escape thyart, for it is one’s existence.

Tao Greater than All: Do not take insult of the content concerning Tao, for Tao is a perfection that is unachievable in humanity.

Survival: It is not the strong sheep of the herd that fall to the wolves; it is the weak, the young, the old, ignorant, and the less wise. In a world where some people seem as wolves living off the innocent and vulnerable, it is wise to strengthen body and spirit to survive, as the weaker will fall prey. Someone must fall prey, for the wolves would not exist without a victim. Retain virtues, build character, and flourish. The breading are the most important, while the young and senior are expendable; they are the ones that support the young to ripeness, and respect the senior to the end.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 1: The path that can be followed is not the perfection of Tao. The named given to Tao is not the name of Tao in its true perfection. Unseen, it is the creator of the sky and earth. Seen, it is the mother of all.  Do not over desire to explain Tao. The desire to provide an answer will only result in more mystery. The unseen nameless and the seen named are the same. Together we call them the great mystery. Deep within the mystery of Tao is the gateway to all, subtle and wonderful.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 73: Concerning boldness, those that are daring will suffer gravely, while those that sustain from daring action remain able. One appears to be an advantage, while the other seems of weakness. Nevertheless, Tao prefers those not daring, for own reasons, baffling even the wisest. The Tao does not compete yet overcomes all, the Tao unheard yet produces response, Tao even when not invited is still present, Tao seems lacking action but accomplishes all plans with perfection. The heaven of Tao seems without boundaries or restriction but contains all without possible escape.

Tao is of Everything: Tao cannot be truly understood and this unknown mystery is the definition of both a power of god and or the tools that created life and the universe. To some it is god, some it is nature, some it is science. For no human knows the extremely small that is everything. No human knows the extremely large that contains everything. One that knows the extremely large and knows the extremely small is ignorant. For reason humanity was encoded with the consciousness of an undefined creator; the reasons for this are also unknown. Tao is not an insult to belief or science but is to give name to what cannot be named or defined that is the perfect balance within life and the universe. Through Tao, everyone enjoys in a belief and even a faith that is their own without condemnation by Tao. To say one does not truly know but one can believe and have faith that life is much more than dirt and air. Of god, or nature, or science, or Tao, this relationship is personal without need or direction of another human as a medium.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 2:  By knowing beauty, a person knows ugliness. Knowing skill, a person knows the lacking of skill. When something is defined, so is its opposite. (Long - short, high - low, good - bad) The various musical notes differ, alone are boring and annoying but when combined create harmony. With this understanding, a wise person is able to manage tasks without interaction or words.  All that is done is without claim of ownership, no boastful pride, with no expectation of reward, and no resting in accomplishment, just continued greatness.

Too many Words: One word is too many. Understand Tao and a person no longer needs any words to guide them. The greatest flaw in humanity is to speak without the guidance of wisdom. All other words should be questions for a better understanding. Wisdom remains silent.

Smile: The more words the less effectiveness of each word. Therefore, speak only one word to rule over all others. SMILE! No one has ever defeated the indomitable smile.

Greatness: Seeking greatness in life but one never finds it. The greatest can only be found within self. Create the greatness desired; this understanding aligns one with ThyArt. Greatness grows around the greatest.

Simplicity of Language: The supposedly educated people increase the complexity of words to seem more educated, the supposedly wise people talk in parables to seem wiser, the less wise create slang and destroy the value of words to seem more intelligent. Only a simple word is intelligent, knowledgeable, and wise. The person of Tao speaks few words with simple language to be surely understood. Be aware of those that avoid a simple answer or they cannot be understood. Speak good simple language. A baby does not cry without an agenda. An animal is quite when content. When a person speaks, it is with intent and agenda.
